How the Pope's Speech relates to today's socity
The Pope's speech is relevant to today's society because although we are gradually getting better in our ways, we are still struggling to show responsibility for our actions and the environment. The advances in technology have also meant we are creating more pollution and we are more preoccupied with other things, than cleaning up our destruction. Technology has also meant we are using a lot of the earth's resources such as coal, without replacing it or using it moderately. In doing this, we are also producing fossil fuels which is destructive towards the environment. In today's society we are starting to notice the significant affects of our actions and the Pope's speech has become more meaningful and we have now become accustom to the thought of an ecological conversion.
